Project Blantyre, Malawi

Located in Southern Africa, Malawi ranks among the world’s least developed nations. The country of Malawi is heavily dependent on the IMF, World Bank and other Donors.

Malawi is consistently battered from extreme weather fluctuations resulting in floods and droughts. Deforestation poses a real threat to the surrounding ecosystems.

Even though, Malawi has weather extremes that negatively affect the soil, the nation produces a third of their GDP through agriculture.

“For I will pour waters on the thirsty land,

and streams on the dry ground;

I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring,

and my blessing on your descendants.

They will spring up like grass in a meadow,

like poplar trees by flowing streams.”

Serving Community Needs (501c3 Non-Profit Charity Organization) has chosen to partner up with a Malawi nonprofit located in Blantyre called Maranatha Orphan and Aged Ministries to develop a farm. This farm will generate income that will create jobs for the community and help support Maranatha Orphan and Aged Ministries.

Our hope is for this farm to eventually contribute to a permanent building for the children.
